WHEN SUGGESTING A SITE:
Describe the site. Is it a farm, permaculture site, sustainability education center, garden, meet-up group site, workshop, etc? Also, make sure to let people know if you are open to share skills and give tours of the site.
Feel free to add home-scale permaculture and garden projects so that you can network with people in your area and skill-share! Perhaps you can visit a permaculture project a few towns over from you and take a tour and learn some skills to apply to your own backyard. Perhaps you are starting an organic farm and want to see what other organic farms in your area are doing and what techniques they are using.
The NE Regional Permaculture Open Green Map will serve as a social-networking tool that will connect Permaculturists/Farmers/Gardeners/Sustainability activists in their localities, while also allowing people to compare and learn from other projects that are being developed throughout the entire bio-region!
Use this as a tool for community organizing, skill-sharing and to spread the Permaculture Movement to a wider audience!!!!
Through strengthening our inter-personal connections, we can continue to work on ways to meet human needs and increase ecosystem health at the home-scale, business scale, farm scale, school scale, community, scale, town scale, city scale, and regional scale! *****************************************************************************************
This Green Map also intends to spur 'solidarity economics' in the NE by displaying sustainable food production micro-businesses and cooperatives, as well as centers where people can learn how to grow their own food, sustainability skills, and/or make a micro-business start up!
