t_hubsOur regional and national Hubs constitute a level of leadership between GMS’s
global office and the locally-led Green Map projects around the world. They are
formed by experienced project leaders to support the growing number of Mapmakers
in their geographical location. Hubs offer one-to-one mentoring, trainings, Mapmaker
exchange meetings, public presentations, translated resources, press releases,
project updates and manage collaborative projects. These decentralized ‘encouragement
agencies’ are critical to our movement. Their impact on the world and on
communities in their country/region is remarkable!

sustaining cultural heritage is a core concern. Follow their progress at greenmap.or.id in Bahasa Indonesian.

Europe
European Green Mapmakers held their first regional meeting in 2000, starting
in Malmo Sweden and traveling to EXPO 2000 in Hanover Germany, where GMS was
recognized as an EXPO ‘Project Around the World’. Subsequent meetings
in Copenhagen, Dublin and Italy encouraged the Hub to gel, and by 2004, work
on the Hub’s website, Europe.GreenMap.org had begun,
developed by Ciprian Samoila.
