This event was held from 1 to 2 May 2010 in two different places; The Faculty of Geography Universitas Gadjah Mada (FG - UGM) Yogyakarta and in Kotagede heritage district. We organized this event in collaboration with the Laboratory of Participatory Planning and Community Development FG - UGM. Speakers at the seminar talked about the strategic ideas and plan to empower the process of participatory mapping in Indonesia. We had the experts from the university, the head of National Survey and Mapping Agency, the Tactile Map researchers, and the Indonesian Green Mapmakers as the speakers. About 70 participants attended to this seminar.
We continue the seminar with the workshop on Green Mapmaking. The workshop started after the seminar. The theory and the principals of participatory for the social mapping have been delivered to the participants in the first day of the workshop. The second day of the workshop held in Kotagede heritage district; located in the Kampung Pekaten, Kotagede. We organized this field workshop with Kanthil Kotagede Foundation, the local NGO partner. About 40 participants participated to this workshop; consist of the under-graduated students, graduate students, governmental agency staff, and the practitioners.
