Led by Leonardo Freire de Mello, who plans to complete both printed and web-based Green Maps with the help of many community members. Leo helped us create the Portuguese GMS Icon Poster and started the Latin American Green Mapmakers Listserver in January 2003!
Leo has also begun leading important workshops involving people from several Brasilian cities. The first took place in May 2003, with 35 participants. It was a great success. There was also a second workshop involving international Mapmakers in July 2003. And in September 2004, Mapmakers from Valinhos, Jau, Campinas and Barra Bonita worked together to further both existing and new projects. They have a great logo, designed by Alessandro Faria and Augusto Marinho of Sao Paulo's Mapa Verde project.
