Taking part in perhaps the most important demonstration in human history, I felt both exhilarated and humbled. Marching with my husband Ray and our Danish friend Ulla, my spirits were buoyed by the crowd's colorful signs and the many marching bands that accompanied us, but the march's message is grave and utterly serious.
How can we come to this moment and, despite the obviousness of the window of opportunity closing before us, not see our government leaders take meaningful global action immediately?
It's up to the individuals, the civil society groups, the communities, the schools, businesses and all other sectors to act. Hopefully, we will see the old adage to be true - if the people will lead, the leaders will follow.
