The Citizen Science Project at Saint Mary's University, Halifax Nova Scotia Canada presented their first news letter in September 2009.

Citizen Science is a project that started in 2008 and their mandate is to work towards global environmental sustainability. The project aims at encouraging and fostering Atlantic Canada's Students, faculty, staff and community members in working towards the Millennium Development goal #7:

Ensure Environmental Sustainability.

The project is comprised of three parts: A student video competition, Film screenings and Public Discussion forums, and Green Mapping. Each of these sectors are designed to promote knowledge sharing among student, faculty, staff, community and students in the Global south, through the aid of new media and traditional activities.
