About this Mapmaker

The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission is the zoning and planning agency for a 30.4-square-mile area along the Hackensack River covering parts of 14 municipalities in Bergen and Hudson Counties in New Jersey. The Agency has worked to grow the regional economy while protecting and restoring the fragile ecosystem of the Meadowlands District.

Statement of Purpose

The NJMC Green Map charts the Meadowlands urban ecology. It adapts the global iconography to highlights points of environmental interest including recreational opportunities, wildlife habitats, cultural and historical resources.
