The purpose of the Green Map will be to act as a community resource plotting the location and contact information of Renfrewshire's natural, cultural and sustainable resources.

The Green Map project was initiated to promote environmental initiatives taking place in Renfrewshire. It will provide a mechanism for environmental projects to support community collaboration, information sharing and also provide links to extra community resources such as websites and downloadable material. The area is 261 km2 (101 sq mi)and has a population of 169,800. Renfrewshire Environmental Trust has established a network of 15 organisations to work together on this project. It is supported by Renfrewshire Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and Awards for All. It is intended that residents from across Renfrewshire will benefit from access to the information and encourage them to look after their environment or take part in practical action.
