新楊平社區大學成立於2007年5月，辦學區域為桃園縣新屋鄉、楊梅市及平鎮市，以客家文化之發揚及傳承和健康農業之推廣為辦學特色。
社大長期關懷自然生態及農村發展，藉由綠地圖製作再度認識新屋鄉，結合在地人才以繪畫方式來重新表現，體現客家人文之美，讓這不到五萬人口的客家聚落，重新再認識發揚，吸引更多關心農村發展和客家議題的夥伴前來認識新屋之美。
