Western Washington University is a liberal arts institution of 13,000 students and a community of socially and environmentally conscious individuals. President Morse's signature on the President's Climate Commitment has set WWU on a path to climate-neutrality. With the support of students, faculty and staff, the Sustainability Committee is charged with furthering the university's strategic goals to protect local and global ecology, uphold social equity, create economic vitality and maintain human health. From transportation and food, to residence halls and grounds, there are countless ways that WWU is making great progress!
The map is being led by a graduate student eager to further my own understanding of the issue and hoping to develop a mechanism by which sustainable behavior is recognized and visible. The finished product will be used for sustainability tours of campus, both guided and self-guided, brochures for the Office of Sustainability, and to be included on the Office of Sustainability's website.
