Introducción
Discover a remarkable little seaside Canadian city with a storied past and bright green future!
About this Map

The City of Colwood is a remarkable jewel in a largely urban setting, boasting two National Heritage Sites (Fort Rodd Hill/ Fisgard Lighthouse and Hatley Park), oceanfront, a modest area of old growth forest, an internationally acclaimed university, unmatched recreational facilities, and a growing cultural precinct.

The population of Colwood is roughly 15,500 and expected to double over the next 20 years. Many of the people living here are relatively new to the community and unfamiliar or unaware of the many 'stories' we have here to celebrate, nurture and protect. The Colwood Community Green Map is seen as an elegant and meaningful process and platform for engaging people and enriching community awareness and respect for Colwood's unique sense of place and role as a 'green learning city'.

The map has been an undertaking of the Colwood Community Place Project and Climate Action West Shore (CAWS), which is an integrated grassroots collaborative alliance involving business, education, NGOs and individuals. The map is a vibrant and evolving platform for celebrating the past, present and future of our remarkable oceanfront homeplace, and is scheduled for release Spring/Summer 2011. www.colwoodcommunityplace.ca and www.climateaction.ca
