Green Map System is announcing a new honor and a donation matching campaign!
Best of Green 2011
Great News! Green Map wins the Treehugger Best of Green 2011 in Science and Technology: Best Eco App for a Smart Phone! We are delighted to receive a Best of Green award two years in a row from the esteemed Treehugger.com.
Moreover, our smart phone app has a brand new feature! Now, anytime you come upon a natural, cultural or green living site that belongs on the interactive Open Green Map, simply tap in GreenMap.org on your mobile. Click Add a Site, and voila! The phone senses your location so you can quickly add the site’s title, description and choose Green Map Icons. As soon as your local Mapmaker approves it, your suggestion will be available, live on the Open Green Map. If you have an iPhone and have downloaded the Green Map app from the iTunes Store, you can learn even more about the people around the world who create Green Maps and peruse their printed editions, photos, etc. Find out more about mobile Green Maps here.
No smart phone? No worries! On your computer, select Suggest A Site on the tab above any of the Open Green Maps. There are now over 16,000 sites, and there is plenty of room for your thoughtful suggestions.
