Kameoka Green Map, Kyoto

In Kameoka City, Japan, students of aesthetics at Kyoto University of Art & Design will be Green Mapping with the assistance of younger students. Their professor, Hiroshi Uemura, says the layout is complete and he plans to publish a poster of this map in the near future.
Hokkaido Green Map

Hokkaido, Japan will have a flora Green Map charting the whole prefecture. The Hokkaido Flower Consortium will be working with Yuji Sakamoto, a systems engineer with IAC Co., ltd to create this Japanese and English language Green Map.
Green Map in Higasiyama, Kyoto

The Society for Life Environment at Kyoto Women’s University is creating the Green Map of Higasiyamaku district of Kyoto. Their aim is to be completed by summer 2007, according to Professor Takakuwa Susumu. There is great interest in traditional ways of fulfilling daily needs, especially in low-impact ways.
Hiroshima Ecopeace Map

Peace and ecology after 1945 are the themes of the Green Map of Hiroshima, Japan, which is being created by Shoichiro Sendai, Associate Professor and his students at Laboratory of Architectural History & Design Theory, Hiroshima University. Youth, adults and elders work together on this project, called the Ecopeace Map. In early 2004, their wonderful and innovative Green Map was published.
Fukuoka Green Map

Fukuoka, Japan's project is led by Sayoko Kawahara and a team of 11, many of whom are students and graphic designers.The Fukuoka Green Map was published online in July 2004, and a printed Green Map is in the works, too. Congrats to this team.
Amagasaki City Green Map, Hyogo Pref.

Amagasaki City in Hyogo Japan is being Green Mapped by Kazuhiro Kinuhara and members of Amagasaki 21- Seiki No Mori (21st Century Forest) organization. We hope this project helps bring more trees and greenery to this industrialized area, raising air quality and spirits at the same time.
Adachi-Ward Green Map, Aiharacho Machi-Dashi, Tokyo

Published in November 2005 by Motoko Mitsui and the group, Ecology Yume Kikaku, Inc., this large scale Green Map includes scores of images that convey a rich sense of the sustainability efforts underway in this district of Tokyo. The image here shows just 25% of the Adachi Green Map - and as you can see, it's a beautiful map!

Walking in a comfortable city is the focus of the Funabashi Green Map project, according to highschool teacher Koichi Shimoyama who is working all ages of community members through communityart FUNABASHI, a non profit organization. May 2006 is their planned publication date.

Our theme is environmentally conscious tourism including reduction of CO2 emission. We create maps for sightseeing in Takaoka City by using bicycles and public transportation facilities.
Osaka Chuo Green Map

Osaka Chuo Green Map is a digital Green Map developed using Mixi social networking resources. It will involve many members of the public, and is being created by Chikafumi Kawamoto, a government official with the Osaka Industrial Design Center, Osaka Prefectural Government. In 2006, our community has 2,000,000 members so far.
