About this Mapmaker

I have worked with the team of volunteers who persisted in their campaign to have the Magaliesberg Mountain Range listed as an International Biosphere by UNESCO. It is now time to share all the places, reasons and treasures that make the region so significant.

Declaración de Intención

The wide region includes the birthplace of Mankind - the World Heritage Site, Cradle of Humankind. The mountains are the second oldest in the world, and the geological timeline is clearly visible on the landscape. It is a journey to where it all began, setting the tone for "treading lightly" and ensuring the economic needs in the area are met in a sustainable manner. Visitors to the region should enjoy the many place of cultural, historic and environmental significance, and information makes that possible.
