Our Green Map project was initiated to make people, especially youth, more aware of their environment and what they could do to preserve it. Our first project is charting the Commune of Grand Saconnex, a town close to Geneva. The aim is to integrate the new residents in the local community (the population of this town has grown of 25% in 5 years!).

Another objective of the map is to highlight all the local initiatives linked to the newly occurring sustainable development.

We worked on this Green Map with officials, scouts, and students of different schools (public and private). The inhabitants and the local associations are also invited to share their information and data. Our partners also included City Hall, local firms, and one federal government agency.
Our target audience includes the local inhabitants, students, young people, and also tourists.
A printed paper copy of the map was circulated to all households of the Commune and the interactive map is on the website of the Commune as well as on www.greenmap.ch
