The first workshop of Green Map Makassar (09/13 - 09/14) project was attended by 20 participants. They are the university student, lecturer, NGO activist, and some of them are mapmakers of Buton. Elanto Wijoyono explained about the World of Green Map. He presented also the step by step of green mapmaking and the service system of Green Map; i.e. Greenhouse and OpenGreenMap. Meta Sekar Puji Astuti, the leader of the project, explained about Buton Green Map project (2005) and the history of Makassar city and why it need to bee greenmaped in the future.
The second day of the workshop, we started to map the Chinatown of Makassar. The participants was divided into four separate groups. Eventhough this September is the holy fasting month of Ramadhan for moslem (most of us are moslem), all of participants were enthusiastic participating in the process of survey and review. This Green Map Makassar project will be implemented until next year. Peta Hijau (Green Map Indonesia) will facilitate them online, through Greenhouse, OpenGreenMap, and our system in http://greenmap.or.id and http://start.greenmap.or.id.
