“The Slow Street Kurayami-saka Road Movement" is an organization, promoting drivers to drive slow on Kurayami-saka road. Located near Omori Station (Ota-ku, Tokyo), Kurayami-saka road (a popular informal name) starts from Ikegami street, ending at the famous Tokyo prefectural road, “Kan-nana”. Being very narrow and curved, but also a convenient byroad for the drivers to “Kan-nana”, the Kurayama-saka road has been very dangerous to the local neighbors. Over 750 signs has been collected from the residents, “The Slow Street Kurayami-saka Road Movement" was established to educate, gather information, and implement proposed measures to a safer, slower street.
私たち「くらやみ坂通りゆっくり走ろう運動」は、東京都大田区大森駅前の池上通りから闇坂（くらやみざか）を経て環七に抜ける「くらやみ坂通り」（愛称）が狭く湾曲した通りであるにも関らず、環七への「抜け道」となり、多くの車や自転車が大幅な速度超過をして通り抜ける現状を「歩行者が安心して歩ける道」にしていこうという趣旨で、この通りを走る車への制限速度20km/h厳守、安全な自転車走行の実現を希求する沿線住民の願いを実現する為、2011年1月末に住民750名の署名により設立されました。
　以来、速度実験や啓発、対策案の実施など多様な活動、取り組みをワーキンググループが中心となり活動しています。
