Green Map at COP15

With COP 15's uncertain conclusion drawing nearer, we encourage everyone to do all they can everyday for a sustainable, climate-healthy future. 'If the people will lead, the leaders will follow!'

My experience in Copenhagen was amazing! Meeting many important people, sharing effective approaches in an open forum, experiencing the special cultural, political and social resources for COP15, and being part of the flow of ideas (and bicycles) throughout the city was excellent, uplifting and hopeful. We 'soft-launched' the mobile phone version of the Open Green Map (simply click GreenMap.org on your phone to access the alpha version), collaborated and planned with Green Map projects from 5 countries, too.

My blog posts include: On our Way | First Impressions | Green Mapmakers Present | Cop 15, Day 3 | Cop 15's Major March | Cop 15 Finale

Special thanks to Wiser Earth.org for including my posts, and for the many people who helped make this happen.

More on climate healthy Green Maps is in this recent newsletter or download a press release at the bottom of this page. Our award-winning globally sharediconography includes Climate Changed Area, Greenhouse Gas Reduction Site and Vulnerable Area, along with many other symbols for sites that address or impact our climate healthy future.

We presented at various forums surrounding COP 15, the United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen in December, including:

December 8, 10AM - 11AM: The Asia-Europe Foundation and the Danish Cultural Institute have invited Jakarta Indonesia's Mapmaker, Marco Kusumawijaya, to make a presentation on Vision and Experiences of an Expanding Spiral of Engagement around the World at the Culture Futures Working Seminar.

December 8, 8:30 or 9 PM: Join Marco Kusumawijaya of Jakarta, Wendy Brawer of New York and possibly other Green Mapmakers at Green Drinks Kobenhavn. Starting at 5 PM, Green Drinks is a casual get-together open to all at BioMio, the organic eatery at Halmtovet 19 (map).

December 9, 10AM: Marco Kusumawijaya will moderate ASEF's Culture Futures Working Seminar session on Ecology and Cities.

December 10, 10 AM- noon: Klimaforum presentation with local and global Green Mapmakers, including Tor Fossum, Linnea Uppsall and Nina Jonsson from The City of Malmo Sweden's sustainability program, Marco Kusumawijaya of Jakarta and the Indonesian Green Map Hub, Wim Chang from Delta Electronics CSR Green Map project and Wendy Brawer, Green Map's founder from New York. Find out about diverse global impacts and ways to utilize Green Mapmaking to spur climate healthy living and sustainable development in your community. Jens Hvass from Copenhagen's Green Map project will also be present.

This event takes place at DGI-byen (close to Central Station) in the Grey Hall, and has a full slate of excellent presentations. It is followed by a Press Conference at 12:15, in the Klimaforum Press Centre. Download our Press Release below.

December 11: Agenda 21 Center, Inner City will host a meeting regarding the possible expansion of the Copenhagen Green Map project, engaging participation throughout Denmark.

Find other events on the official calendar. Malmo has tours of sites they have Green Mapped as well, listed here.

Thanks to blogger Rose Spaziani, we have a short video that includes more about our activities at COP 15 (transcribed in the Copenhagen Voice, along with more on events in and about COP 15):
