The Green Map of Techeng Isle combines the local human landscape with mangrove wetland ecosystem. As a map of humanity ecology, it is designed for promoting the idea of Green Map and raising the public awareness of mangrove conservation. With every effort, we are striving to do the promotion of the Green Map among people in different ways.
After more than a month’s preparatory work, we carried out the Wetland Camp on Zhanjiang Techeng Isle from July 16th to 29th, 2011, using the local Green Map as a medium of publicity. The Wetland Camp, which is organized by Fresh Environmental Protecting Association of SCUT independently, is a unit of Green Camp campaign aiming at promoting the idea of green lifestyle and propagandizing environmental protection amongst local communities. Basing on the Green Map, we university students have sowed green seeds on the island through environmental education, publicity propaganda, household surveys and other relevant activities.
