The first Green Map in Jakarta was of Kemang, South Jakarta, made in 2001 by a group of residents, architects and media workers. The second map, in 2002, was of Kebayoran Baru, also in South Jakarta. The third one, in 2003 was of Menteng, Central Jakarta. The most recent Jakarta Green Map was that of the Old Town in West and North Jakarta, made in 2005.

In mid 2008, Jakarta Green Map movement sees a revival to promote a healthy and sustainable city. All related features along Jakarta sustainable transport options (bike lane, busway and railway) will be pointed out in the coming city wide map. The map will be put together by city communities, including Jakarta Green Monster, Bike2Work, KRL Mania, Greenlifestyle, IAI and many others.
