Led by Bubutu High school, adults and pupils created this GreenMap with the guidance of expert GreenMapper Odella Joseph from the neighbouring town of Tororo. The GreenMap describes the important sites, institutions and habitats within the village and highlights the pressures of crowded fields and climate change on local agriculture. Sacred sites for circumcision rituals, and economically important features such as fishing ponds, rub along side sites for hearing local music and places of worship. The high rainfall in the area can be seen by the many seasonal and permanent wetlands, and a solar electricity system can be found within the health centre, however environmental problems such as deforestation and unsustainable farming are also present.
