Our purpose is to research, design, produce, and distribute copies of the SF Green Map in order to raise awareness of the incredible environmental resources and to provide examples of innovation, conservation, and sustainability in the SF Bay Area. The City of San Francisco and Northern California have an incredible number of vital and essential, green movements and organizations. We have produced a current compendium available for exploring this phenomenon.
Identifying icons and attractive artwork illustrate a colorful map and 17,000 22' x 28' copies are being distributed to teachers, students, sponsors, non-profits, and citizens.
The map highlights sites and institutions that reflect issues concerning: open space, urban sustainable agriculture and renewable energy, innovation demonstration projects and education centers, alternative transportation systems, and public and SF Estuary/coastal recreation spots. The SFGM is designed for students with sustainability education in mind, and it is designed to help reduce our collective environmental impact.
