Dayton Regional Green 3 is an umbrella organization formed by Montgomery County, Ohio, in partnership with the University of Dayton, the Chamber of Commerce and Heapy Engineering working to promote and improve sustainability and energy effectiveness throughout an 8 county region in southwest Ohio.
Why 3?
DRG3 promotes greener practices in 3 sectors: government, residential, and business.
In each sector, there are 3 areas of focus: policy, education, and economic development.
DRG3 aims to be the recognizable sustainability organization for the Dayton region. The program takes inventory of existing green initiatives, and adopts new ones to fill gaps to create a portfolio that includes both relatively easy “low-hanging fruit” initiatives as well as more difficult, ambitious initiatives that will stretch our boundaries but will deliver significant long-term energy reductions, cost savings, and environmental benefits in an effort to create healthier environments to work, live, and learn.
Creating the Dayton Region Green Map is an exciting step toward greater awareness of the Dayton Region’s numerous and diverse efforts to be a leader in sustainability. DRG3 and its partner organizations will work together to populate the map with the many green businesses, organizations, projects and other efforts happening in the region.
