Houston Air Quality - My Solution Is...
Just wanted to pass along some information on the "My Solution Is..." campaign - an intiative spearheaded by the Houston-Galveston Area Council with the goal of educating residents on and improving Houston's air quality. This animation(http://www.mysolutionis.com/animation.html) can provide a quick rundown of how the campaign works, but here are some basic details:
Commuters visit the site (www.mysolutionis.com) and promise to participate in the solution that best suits their needs – options range from carpooling, to riding the bus, bundling trips or even two-wheeling it on bikes or motorcycles. In return, the East Harris County Manufacturers Association will donate one dollar for every person (up to the first 10,000) who commits to try a commute alternative during the month of August in order to support clean air initiatives. The money will be used for clean air education and awareness programs geared toward Houston-Galveston area residents.
All participants will receive a gift coupon for a free Jamba Juice smoothie and the chance to purchase discounted Houston Dynamo tickets. Everyone who makes a pledge also will be entered into a drawing at the end of the month for a $1,000 gas card.
