Dear Friends,
With your help today, Green Map System can continue to serve cities, towns and villages all around our wonderful world. In over 500 communities, we are already supporting the shift towards healthier, greener, more culturally rich places where every individual and species can thrive.
With the need for change greater than ever, we are doing more than ever, too. 2008 has been an action-packed year. 88 new Green Map projects got started! This record-breaking number includes well-known cities like Austin Texas, Cape Town South Africa and Seoul Korea alongside lesser-known places like Sharon Ohio and Gandhinagar India. Each has something remarkable in common – they are changing for the better, and they want everyone to take part! read more »
As 2008 draws to a close, we at Green Map System can look back and say we are doing our part to address today's great environmental challenges and opportunities. Our low cost resources are a boon to communities worldwide, and with our newest participatory website, we are now creating our own sustainability 'stimulus package'! Your support makes this important work possible. Please donate – a little or a lot – or get involved by creating your community's Green Map - and keep us moving forward in 2009!

Announcing a New Milestone in Leadership Development!!
Along with our locally-led global network of Mapmakers, we are all pleased to celebrate new beginnings while we welcome new Green Map projects from all parts of the globe.
In October we reached the 500 project mark with the involvement of Grupo Aves del Perú. With their own Mapa Verde, they will focus attention on Cusco's struggling bird habitats! The commitment of partners like these underscores our ability to help support biodiversity as well as green innovation, culture and social justice efforts in communities worldwide.
To date in 2008, we have added 72 new Green Map projects, topping all previous year-end totals! October's new projects hail from near (NYU's Tourism program & Rochester NY) and far, including India (Gandhinagar), Romania (Bistrita & Livezile), Germany (Halle & Neustadt), Scotland (Dunipace Green), San Francisco and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Clearly, our efforts to provide support for these initiatives in the form of mapmaking resources, websites, workshop materials, youth modules and project publicity have worldwide impacts! read more »

August-September Green Map Express
Here at Green Map System, we have had a very productive summer. With a fresh crop of innovation growing, we invite you to share in the harvest!
While school has been on break, we gathered up the responses from the educators and youth group leaders who tested our set of Energy and Environment Exploration Modules over the past year. We then refined and finalized these adaptable tools and the educator guide that goes with them for both in and out-of-school activities. Both New York City and Global editions are now available. We invite you to use them with middle and high school students in your community. read more »
