University of Florida is developing a course for middle school children in Albania introducing GIS and educating about sustainability principles. Partial funding for this course was provided by the Martin and Mirash Ivanaj Foundation, and GISCorps has been a contributing partner.

As part of this course (which will occur at the end of June 2012), we are planning to create a Green Map for Tirana, the capital of Albania, first by hand using the GreenMap symbols, and then in digital. This map will then be part of an Open Letter directed to the Mayor of Tirana that the children will prepare, expressing their support for green living and technology learning.
