UConn Geography Club will design a Green Map of the campus at Storrs because sustainable and eco friendly initiatives are not widely known to the campus community and general public. The green map will present spatial data representing sustainable and eco friendly initiatives and projects located throughout the campus in a user friendly and easy to access manor. Another goal of our map is to promote environmental awareness around campus in current and ongoing projects using mapping as a visual medium that support green initiates such as energy efficiency, recycling, composting, organic agriculture, wildlife and aquatic conservation.

The UConnn Geography Club will first import its data into the open green map and then over the course of the next year will compose and publish a paper version. Our vision is to integrate the green map with the current map of the campus. This map will also include information on the campus and surrounding local communities. The end result of this project is to create a map that will help to promote the University as an eco friendly community and institution. The map will provide the user with an easy to interpret presentation.
