Our new rector authorities aim to transform the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, into the first green university in Greece. The implementation of environment-friendly operations, by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, could be a model of good practices for other institutional bodies and for the Greek society since it is the biggest Higher Education Institution in Greece (over 120.000 persons). Additionally, considering that the campus (an area of approximately 430.000 m2) is located downtown, it is expected that this effort will result in the improvement of the environmental conditions in the wider region of Thessaloniki. Specifically, the actions to be developed includes the following:
