Preview our 2023 Plans

We've just met our 2022 Giving Tuesday goal, thanks to dozens of donors who were matched by GlobalGiving or donated directly to our nonprofit. Thank you!

We applied those funds toward completing the buildout of our versatile, easy-to-use community mapping platform. Green Mapmakers in a dozen countries are already using it to promote local climate health and green living. Thanks to the vision and skills of the GISCollective, our open source tech developers, when it’s re-launched this spring, this platform will help local teams without their own online presence share their project’s stories and impacts on their communities and environment. We’ll be ramping up outreach at the same time! Knowing how Green Maps build skills and support local green jobs, you will be supporting climate justice in every participating community. This project's report has the details!

Our complementary NYC plan for 2023 includes piloting a local ‘train the trainer project’, helping more New Yorkers use Green Map tools for positive change. This activateNYC partnership will engage local climate justice, environmental, tech training and regenerative planning groups across the city who will then be able to map themes such as environmental injustice, carbon reduction, wildlife protection, and so on, in accordance with their own mission, as detailed in this report

Your support is welcome, either directly to Green Map or through GlobalGiving to boost our local work, supporting active living and green jobs in NYC alongside resources for climate health, local greening initiatives and mission-aligned places and pathways.

We're looking forward to sharing more news on the Green Map Platform and activateNYC soon.
